1961 "Who Put The Bomp" Barry Mann

Barry Mann wurde zusammen mit Cynthia Weil eines der erfolgreichsten Songwriter- und Musikproduzentenpaare in den späten 1950er bis in die 1990er Jahre.
Sie schrieben unzählige Hits, zum Beispiel auch die Dion & The Belmonts-Songs.

Einmal betätigte Barry Mann sich auch selbst als Interpret. Sein Song "Who Put The Bomp" sollte eine Parodie und Verulkung der BeBop-Songs sein mit extra vielen "boogedy" und "shoo bop". Doch er wurde auf alle Fälle (wie die meisten Songs, die er schrieb) ein Hit in den obersten Plätzen der Charts.
Die anderen Nr.1 Hits schrieb er dann wieder für andere Interpreten. Scheinbar war es für ihn eine Art Vergnügen die BeBop-Art mal auf die Schippe zu nehmen, egal wieviel Geld er damit verdiente.
